Well executed, hand carved smoking pipe, bowl made of meerschaum which has been realistically carved depiction of a bearded man. The pipe comes with its original fitted leather case.


Handcarved tobacciana themed accessory / curio cabinet display article. Features the face of a bearded sultan wearing a turban, the stem with a double sided sultan face and having an amber colored mouthpiece. Highly detailed showing quality craftsmanship. Designed to rest on a footed wooded stand. No apparent markings.


Meerschaum pipe is a smoking pipe made of sepiolite mineral, and it is actually a German term. It is also known as sea foam floating on the Black Sea is often found and is somewhat reminiscent of sea foam.

About 1723, the first recorded use of meerschaum for making pipes was.
As the ideal material for providing a cool, dry, flavorful smoke, it quickly became coveted.
